Hey guys,

WoD is here and i came back to my monk, Alliance, and i decided to embrace a new challenge, "Healing", a shoot in the foot some of you might think, but it's been fun, and bg's are alot of more fun, since i do it with a friend of mine (prot/gladiator war).

Why healing??? Well dps isnt really hard to be honest, specially when you have soo many monks trying to be FoTM.

And here it is.

Heroic modes Tips and tricks For NORUSHEN HC.

Let's get this started. Heroic modes Tips and tricks For THE FALLEN PROTECTORS HC.

Streaming SoO HC at:
Immerseus hc mode raid pve

Let's get this started. Heroic modes Tips and tricks For IMMERSEUS HC.

Has predicted Spoils is down, quite a fun fight to be honest, the video is being uploaded to youtube, and as soon as it is available, it will be posted here.

Here it is.

On this post I will explain how to get a "huge starting burst" at the beginning of a fight.

Expel Harm to 3-4
 Pre-potting (and racial buffs)
Chi-wave before combat starts (pay attention to pulls, ninjapulls are not cool).
     Xuen (if talented)
Tiger Palm (to get the buff rolling)
Rising Sun Kick (to apply debuff and do initial damage)
X2 (to regain 4chi and TEB stacks)
Tiger Eye Brew (for them DEPS)
Fists of Fury (unleash it all)

To me this netted me a 400k burst on the target dummy, self buffed without pre-potting and orc racial buff.

After testing with flask/ food/ pre-potting/ racial buff/ 8stacks of TEB (unlucky procs i guess) went from the 400k to 462k.

A detailed breakdown of the damage.

Keep in mind that as a monk our damage will plummet as soon as FoF drops, but the windwalker isn't a sprint runner, we are a long distance runner (fighter) and while the others damage starts falling we keep going up steady.

Hope this helped, and tell me about how do you guys start your fights, i have seen people saying that is better to start with RSK than with TP.

This was our latest kill SHA of Pride 25-man Heroic Mode.

So yesterday we managed to down the Heroic version of the Fallen protectors.

The tactics were the same except the kill order that now was Rook - Sun - He.

Also we promoted the cleave damage in-between HP plateus, meaning we focused Rook, and left the cloaks and abilites like RSK splash damage (dot) take away bits of the other's HP.

When i find out who recorded this fight i will post it here, also we did a few tries in Norushen HC and left him at 8%, so tonight there if everything goes well there should 1 or 2 new hc kills.

So yesterday we started heroic modes, bear in mind that 80% of the guild stopped playing and only returned 1-week after SoO was released, so only now, most of us are getting our legendary cloaks, still i think we have had an amazing progress for the lack of gear and time spawn. Here is our kill video on immerseus yesterday, Boomkin POV.

This is a clean fight without much to worry.

You will be mostly on boss. Always kill Totems and Banners first. Leg Sweep adds like the Arcweaver and the Shamans. Try and stun the Assassin with Fists of Fury. Do not touch if he's in defensive, kill adds. (Avoid using Chi Wave if you can. You DO NOT want Nazgrim gaining any rage during Def Stance.)
With the advent of Thunderforged and Warforged weapons, BiS lists are much less valuable a resource than before, because we would be advising a list of items that not even the best players would have a chance to complete. Instead, we now give you advice for choosing your trinkets, your set bonuses, and whatever else is important for your class.
  • Haromm's Talisman Icon Haromm's Talisman and Ticking Ebon Detonator Icon Ticking Ebon Detonator are your main trinkets for Tier 16. Assurance of Consequence Icon Assurance of Consequence is also viable, but it is not as good as the two aforementioned trinkets (other classes benefit from it a lot more than Windwalker Monks). Sigil of Rampage Icon Sigil of Rampage is not worth using because its cleave damage is reduced by Storm, Earth, and Fire Icon Storm, Earth, and Fire.
  • For your weapons, Hellscream's Cleaver Icon Hellscream's Cleaver is the best choice before Heroic Warforged items. After that, any upgrade in item level is worth taking.
  • Your Tier 15 set bonuses were not that great, so you will want to replace them as soon as you get higher item level gear. Both Tier 16 set bonuses are worth having, so you should aim at wearing 4 pieces of Tier 16 and 1 off-set item (preferably a warforged item).

So guys, today i bring you a guide from, very good guide, well put toghether.

WW] 5.4 - Siege of the Fist
All the credits go to  -> Calligraphy. " I've been playing various roles in WoW for several years, starting wayyyy way back when I first made my shaman. I just so happen to play a Windmasta Brewwalkin' monk, with an emphasis on that Windwalkin'. I chose to write this in order to have an up-to-date guide on Windwalker mechanics and changes, with an emphasis on compiling current theorycraft in an easier-to-digest manner."

Windwalker is not a class to be confused with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. For one thing, we have an L in Windwalker. We bring front-loaded damage, and are extremely effective in AoE and cleave fights.

We do not have initial burst, though we do have a stacking buff that allows us to do a large amount of damage over a short period of time (for more information, read the section on Tigereye Brew). In addition to that, we have a multi-dot that allows us to maintain great damage on 2-3 targets (though, with an impact on our own damage). Finally, to top all of this off - we also do fantastic sustained damage.

How to read this guide: I will give the short answer first (for those who are perhaps just switching to Windwalker and have 10 minutes before raid) and then go into more technical reasoning for those who are curious, or those who are attempting to min/max.

This is a punishing fight for melees, but we can make it work, let's break it down then.

Talents that i use for this fight.

Tiger's Lust for mobillty on demand, getting out of oozes and what not.

Chi wave because of its healing/damage component and short cd already making it a part of my rotation.

Ring of piece because bosses are affected by disarms.

Diffuse magic well as a damage dealer your only source of harmful damage is mage and anything to mitigate it, is good.

Rushing Jade wind, due to it's low cd and because i like to send a clone to the oozes and do some AOE on them with this ability.

Now to the fight itself.

IMPORTANT:The Dark Shamans are susceptible to Grapple Weapon, which not only decreases their melee damage but also increases the performance of the monk who used it. It essentially becomes a DPS cooldown, increasing your damage dealt by 5% for 8 seconds on a 60 second cooldown.

  • If targeted for Ashen Wall or Foul Stream, always aim it away from your raid, and away from the kiting path of the bosses.
  • Touch of Karma during Geyser if you wish to stand in it, roll away if not.
  • Stoneskin as needed, and Diffuse Magic works well with Toxic Mist.
  • Kill the boss at all costs, range will kill the adds.

ATTENTION:One thing to note for all cloak users, if you aim near the adds at all during a cloak proc, you can get aggro and they will come to you and kill you if you do not notice that they aggro'd to you.

So you finished the first 4 bosses of Siege of Ogrimmar, and you are just of the harbour, and you are about to start the Galakras fight (cool looking mount might i add) so lets check this fight.

So beneficial talents for this fight are:

Tiger's Lust                  Diffuse Magic                 Invoque Xuen, The white Tiger
Tiger's Lust is just my personal favority movement talent not much to add.

Most, if not all of your cooldowns, must be used during seismic activity and before a pulse.

With the damage from activity and the pulse, you'll save yourself more times than you can count.

Obviously don't pop them all for each activity and pulse, but only if you think it will save your life, or if healers need help. Also use Tiger's Lust when targeted by a cutter as well as roll, avoiding all tar.

I choose to use Xuen in this fight because it is a single target fight. But i am looking at and testing RJW as a single target dmg dealer, for the simple fact of the uptime it has in comparison to Xuen.

So the fourth boss, and he gives tokens YEY!!!!
Hate the trash on the room FYI.

So beneficial talents for this fight are:

Tiger's Lust               Diffuse Magic         Rushing Jade Wind(Personal choice)

Ok tiger's Lust is because of the movement one has to do during all the fight, be it prisons, stacking or going to and from the side-wall adds.

Diffuse magic will save you healers not gaining 5-pride, so you as a monk can dispell yourselve, therefore help the healers.

Rushing Jade Wind here is a personal choice because of the adds that spawn underneath you, and because you can guarentee a bigger uptime of damage on the adds with RJW then with Xuen.

Use (fortifying brew) and  (touch of Karma) to negate Sweeling Pride damage.

When big adds spawn leave a clone on the boss so you will deliver damage on two fronts, Big add and Boss.

And if you want to maximise damage on little adds when you run away put 2 clones on 2 adds and while you stick on boss RJW all the way and pad the meters.

(HC tactics for monk)

So, you killed Immerseus and The Fallen protectors, and you just went thru some trash, now you get to the Norushen fight, where you actually fight the an Amalgamation of corruption.

Let's see, a fight with adds that sometimes get clumped up, happens more at 25-man: Check
A phase where you need to kill 5adds : Check
Magic (shadow damage): Check

So talents for this fight are:

(Heroic tactics)

On this boss i have the worse advice ever, CLONES, CLONES EVERYWHERE!!!

Ok now that is behind us, let's see, the fight step by step.

My guild normally starts on Rook, with this you get your clones on He, and on Sun.

When we get Rooks at 66% and he starts his phase of desperate measures, is where it shows if you are fast on your monk fingers, put your clones on the last adds to die, normally this means, clones on the melee adds and you on the caster add.

When Rooks Phase is done and he returns, this time your clones are going in diferente targets.

The targets for the clones are Rook and Sun, this is because we will be hitting Hee, and when his phase starts a new add will show up and you are free to hit him if he targets you, use touch of karma do deliver the damage back to him.

So, now Hee and Rook are out of the way, it is Sun time, place your clones on Rook and Hee, and nuke Sun till her phase, she will disappear, and everyone including tanks should be in the middle to kill adds right, this is where the huge damage will appear, we have a awesome talent for aoe, remember guys, Rushing Jade Wind.  So Sun moves away, and what you have to do is target one of the big adds, and continue your rotation, but incorporate RJW, evertime it is off cooldown.

Your dps will sky rocket.
Yes i know, the fight is supposed to be one target at the time, but well, one monk doing it wonk make a diference.

After the all he phases are done, rinse and repeat, also everytime 2 bosses/adds are toghether use RJW.

First boss in Siege of Ogrimmar, let's see this boss from a Windwalker monk point of view.
What can be done to improve your job and help the raid.

WindwalkerAllSwirlTranscendenceYou can port through the whirl beam
WindwalkerAllSha BoltTranscendenceYou can port out of the Sha Bolt's collapsing
towards the  center as P1 ends
WindwalkerAllSha PuddleDisableUse disable to slow and/or root the adds, but
they die so fast i'm not sure if is worth it
WindwalkerAllSha PuddleLeg SweepAdds are stunnable. Up to you if you want to
Leg sweep a group of 2 for 5 seconds, or maybe
try and ox wave 2 sets, but that seems error
WindwalkerAllSha PuddleTouch of DeathDo not forget to use Touch of Death on the
WindwalkerAllContaminated PuddleHealing SphereAwesomeHealing Spheres actually work on an NPC!
WindwalkerAllContaminated PuddleChi TorpedoTentativeChi Torpedo Heals the adds, but it's pretty
underwhelming unless you can cleave damage and
healing on a bunch
WindwalkerAllContaminated PuddleGlyph of Targeted ExpulsionDoes Not WorkGlyph of Targetted Expulsion sounds good,
but when the chi is pretty meaningless for a
WW/BrM, Healing Spheres just to more healing
than an Expel Harm, cut in 1/2. The only way
the glyph and EH would pull ahead would be
counting the damage as useful too,
which is a stretch, especially when other glyphs
are good.
WindwalkerAllSha PuddleFlying Serpent KickTentativeFSK Slow should work on the adds too
WindwalkerAllSha PuddleChi BurstMake sure chi burst is up to do a big healing
and damage cleave on adds at the start of
phase 2
